BrickzLab was one of the first groups to display at the first IDS-Brickworld in November in Velen, Germany, 2021. We brought our Dark Times Occupation of Batuu layout and had the honor of winning the best project of the convention.

After arriving in Velen at the Thesingbachhalle and receiving exclusive goodies, everyone was very excited to see the convention center and meet other Fans.

Everyone was very excited to finally see the Baatuu collab, which members worked on for almost one year, take shape and set up all the other builds that were brought from all over Europe. After a day full of building, the Brickzlab community display was finished. In the evening, we ended the day with pizza for all the displayers and some great chats with other Lego enthusiasts.

Saturday morning, when the convention hall finally opened up for the public, a long queue of visitors was already waiting to enter the hall with 1400 square meters of Lego. We were amazed by the number of people that came to look at the different builds, take pictures and chat about Lego. Between talking to visitors, purchasing some new and old Lego items, and taking pictures with Star Wars characters from the also present German Garrison and Cantina Base, the day went by very fast.
The following day we were honored by receiving our first convention award for a collaborative project with Brickzlab for our Baatuu Layout that was exclusively created and displayed at this convention. Seeing that our biggest and most complex project to date did not only come together as planned but also was enjoyed by visitors and other displayers alike.
The convention ended on Sunday evening after a great weekend of talking to new and old friends, meeting some Star Wars characters in real life, and other fun activities. Sadly, it was time to disassemble the builds and travel back home. Overall, it was a great convention weekend, and everyone is excited for the next IDS Brickworld convention in 2023.
